The Galilee College of Dental Sciences offers a variety of advanced education programs.
The advanced education programs are twelve (12) months long, during which time a senior physician supervises the trainee, and he/she is under the responsibility of Prof. Srouji. At any given time, there are two active trainees in the department; six months prior to the end of the training period, two more trainees enter the program.
The advanced education programs are between one and three days a week.
Three months prior to initiation of the advanced education program, the trainee is introduced to the various systems in the medical center and in the ward, and after which the trainee will officially begin the advanced education program.
*It is important to note that the certificate for advanced training is not a certificate recognized by the Council for Higher Education.

Advanced education programs

Minor soft and hard tissue surgery

Head of Advanced Education Program: Dr. Lena Eskander-Hashoul DMD MSc

The goal of this advanced education program is to strengthen the trainee’s theoretical and clinical knowledge in the field, and thereby improve the level of care for patients in his/her private clinic in the community.

The education program combines theoretical knowledge with clinical aspects and the study of current professional literature.

The trainee will perform examinations, analyze dental imagining and CT scans and perform verity of surgical procedures.

Orthodontics

Head of Advanced Education Program: Dr. Avishay Herman DMD, MHA, MSc 

The goal of the advanced orthodontics education program is to strengthen the trainee’s theoretical and clinical knowledge in the field of orthodontics and thereby improve the level of care for patients in his/her private clinic in the community.

The advanced orthodontics education program combines clinical and theoretical aspects, the study of current professional literature, participation in staff meetings, preparation of treatment plans, while considering the alternatives, and clinical treatment of patients.  Each trainee treats approximately 25 patients, including cases of different levels of difficulty and complexity.

The trainee will learn and understand innovative and historical perspectives and their connection to orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.

The advanced education program will enable the trainee to become familiar with the latest professional literature, recognize the biological response of soft and hard tissues, and implement tools to diagnose, analyze, plan and perform comprehensive orthodontic treatments.

Prosthodontics

Head of Advanced Education Program: Dr. Elias Absawi DMD

The purpose of the advanced oral rehabilitation education program is to strengthen the theoretical and practical clinical knowledge in the field for dentists who wish to expand their knowledge and gain clinical experience.

The advanced education program combines clinical and theoretical aspects, and study of current professional literature. The trainee will gain significant clinical experience in diagnostics, planning and execution of rehabilitative treatment and management of complex treatments.

In addition, as part of the advanced education program, participants will undergo training in the fields of digital dentistry and computer-guided dental implants.

Endodontics and microscopy

Head of advanced education program: Dr. Vadim Faivishevsky DMD

The goal of the advanced endodontics education program is to strengthen the trainee’s theoretical and clinical knowledge in the field of endodontics and thereby improve the level of care for patients in his/her private clinic in the community.

The advanced education program combines theoretical knowledge and current professional literature.

The clinical practice will focus on planning and executing root canal, and retrograde and periapical treatments in a variety of patients.

In addition, as part of the advanced education program, participants will undergo training in microscope-assisted endodontics.
