Message from Prof. Samer Srouji

Galilee Medical Center’s Galilee College of Dental Sciences aims to provide the tools and experience required to perform a range of clinical treatments of the highest quality. It offers a variety of advanced education programs in dentistry  including: orthodontics, endodontics and microscopy, minor surgery of soft and hard tissue and prosthodontics and an enrichment program in the field of pediatric dentistry.

Through its innovative curriculum, well-equipped research institute, clinical facilities and modern research, Galilee College strives to provide medical education that combines advanced research, and didactic and clinical training designed to prepare the trainee for a career at the highest level, and enable dentists to thrive and excel in their clinical practice.

About Prof. Srouji

Professor Samer Srouji received his B.Sc. degree in Oral Biology and DMD from the Faculty of Dentistry of the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem. He earned his Ph.D. from the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, on the subject of anatomy, cell biology and tissue engineering.

He completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, which was followed by special training in TMJ and arthroscopic surgery under the supervision of Prof. Joseph McCain at, Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida, USA.

Prior to joining the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, Prof. Srouji served as a senior physician in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa. In addition, he served as a faculty member and senior lecturer at the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.

Since 2015, Prof. Srouji has been the director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Galilee Medical Center and a professor at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, Bar Ilan University.

He heads a tissue engineering research laboratory, where he mentors graduate students.

Prof. Srouji is a highly regarded clinician and is one of the senior staff members of the AO CMF that carries a banner of excellence in the surgical fields.

Prof. Srouji is a member of the following professional organizations: Israeli Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons (ASTMJS) (also a board member), the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS) (also a board member), the Israeli and the World Association of Dental Research, the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), and the International Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Association.

Over the years, Professor Srouji has introduced several innovations, such as a unique method for performing a minimally invasive arthroscopy called OSCA, graft-less sinus lift procedures and more.

Under his management, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department established an innovative 3D center which provides unique surgical solutions; the 3D printing lab has quickly become one of the leading 3D point of care centers in the world.

Prof. Srouji has published dozens of papers in international professional journals and delivered numerous presentations at national and international conferences. He has also lectured at international courses in Europe and the United States.
